ABOUT BEENIE GUNTER
“We live life with no fear.” – Beenie Gunter
Ugandan musician Beenie Gunter is an all-round, versatile artist with cross appeal and a message that speaks to the young and old generation. Beenie Gunter sings in patois as opposed to his native tongue and he believes as a Ugandan reggae dancehall artist, focus should not be put on being the best in speaking Jamaican but rather being able to communicate a positive message is the real value and gift artists can bestow on those who listen their music. This combination of talent and mindset makes him one of today’s most celebrated Ugandan Dancehall artists.
Born Baguma Crescent on February 23, 1993, Beenie Gunter, nurtured his musical prowess in a strict Christian upbringing. He was introduced to dancehall music at a young age by his late brother Beenie Venture and grew up relating to artists like Popcaan, Demarco, Beenie Man and Chronixx. His break out tracks, No Offence and Tubayo, put him on the musical map but his style, charisma and innate ability to sell his brand made him a landmark.
Beenie Gunter has earned his reputation and respect as an artist by leading an exemplary life that inspires many Youth to be the best version of themselves by bringing out the best in others. His kin fashion sense and style also inspired his clothing line called Guntalk Wear.
Beenie Gunter has shared a stage with international acts like Chronixx, Casper Nyovest and Major Lazer. He has also performed at the Nyege Nyege International Music and Arts Festival. He has toured the country to perform at many shows with mammoth crowds and has done collaborations with Ugandan stars like Eddy Kenzo and Sheebah Karungi, Jamaican dancehall artists Nyanda and the Kemist and Nigerian sensation, Skales.
